OUR SCHOOL MOTTO ‘Strong in Faith’ My name is Mrs. Debbie Heckenberg and I am delighted to have been appointed Principal of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Primary School-Mt Pritchard. I share the leadership of this school with our pastor Fr Frank Furfaro pp; Leadership team members: Mrs. Carol Luc- Acting Assistant Principal for 2008; Mrs. Anne Bonanni-REC, Coordinators: Mrs. Jenni Martin – Pastoral Support; Mrs. Angela Barroccu; Mrs. Lucy Tsacalos; The teaching staff of Our Lady of Mt Carmel plays an integral part in the leadership of our school and has a key role in policy and programme formation and evaluation.
As a school community we are working towards a collaborative model of teaching and learning which then extends to all aspects of our school life. We encourage our students to share in the leadership of the school and they are encouraged to shape and own their learning and to exercise leadership in the day-to-day opportunities to give good example.
We believe in and welcome a strong partnership with parents, the parish and wider community to inspire our students to recognize their role in bringing the Face of Jesus Christ into our lives. We work closely with Our Christian Values which permeate into our children's lives. We hope to continue to develop an active relationship with our local regional secondary school: Freeman Catholic College to further confirm a vision for K-12 education in the local community.

The Sisters of Charity have successfully led and managed our school over a number of years. I am committed to continue their work as I accept the responsibility of leading this wonderful school. I feel privileged to be in the role of Principal at this stage in the history of the school.
